Percutaneous Neuromodulation

Percutaneous neuromodulation therapy (PNT) is a new technique that attempts to treat neuropathic pain. It is based upon stimulating large diameter nerves to provide lasting changes in the spinal column, to restore a more normal response to normally non-painful sensations in the lower back.

It is an office-based procedure. We insert tiny electrodes into your skin in your neck or back, similar to acupuncture needles, and electrically stimulate the needles.

We usually perform up to four sessions, each lasting about ½ hour. If you are feeling relief after 4 sessions, we would continue treating you for another 6 sessions, for a total of 10 sessions.
