High-resolution ultrasound has proven to be a very accurate and reliable technique in diagnosing a wide range of musculoskeletal disorders. Its accuracy has been comparable to the MRI examination in the diagnosis of certain injuries and diseases of the joints, muscles and nerves.
At The Helm Center we use the latest and most effective technology in our treatment techniques. We use diagnostic ultrasound to diagnose certain injuries and diseases of the muscles, joints, and nerves. We also use ultrasound guided injections for a dynamic visualization of the area being treated.
Ultrasound Guided Injections
Ultrasound provides a noninvasive technique allowing for continuous monitoring of needle position which results in a safe and precise injection. The advantage of ultrasound in interventional sport medicine and pain management is the ability to provide direct visualization of the area being treated, while avoiding the risk of radiation exposure.
Ultrasound guided injections help us to improve the effectiveness and safety of our procedures. With use of ultrasound we can pinpoint the site of injections while avoiding injuries to the adjacent structures like blood vessels and nerves. Despite of the accuracy and reliability of the ultrasound during certain examinations and procedures, not all of the procedures can be done using the ultrasound guidance.
